A tale of moonshine and horsepower. Franklin County, Virginia is known as the world capitol of moonshine. Southwest Virginia was also the home to NASCAR Hall of Famer, Curtis Turner. This story aired in February 2016, the Thursday before the Daytona 500.

At the Bedford, Virginia Farmer’s Market apparently. I putting together a story about a local farmer’s efforts to provide Virginian’s with quality beef. There is also an interesting twist to this man’s story.

3-year-old Brayden Altmann lost his leg in a lawnmower accident on Mother’s Day 2014. He’s doing well, and says he wants a red prosthetic so he can “be a Transformer.”

The Last Great Coliseum
A few hours before the 2013 Irwin Tools Night Race, photographer Tim Davis and I piled in to a Ford Mustang for a couple circuits around Bristol Motor Speedway with former NASCAR star and current pace car driver Brett Bodine. Tim held on to the camera in back while Brett and I chatted away up front.
